For day 17 of blogmas, here’s my favourite Christmas songs!

Wham! – Last Christmas

When I was younger and visited them, my great aunt and uncle had a hanging Christmas wreath, with a snowman sitting in it like it was a swing. The snowman would sing Last Christmas when you clapped and I loved it.

The Pogues and Kirsty Maccoll – Fairytale of New York

This is just a classic song to belt out and the trumpets in the background (I think they’re trumpets?) make for great music!

Daryl Hall and John Oates – Jingle Bell Rock

This song just reminds me of Mean Girls and well I don’t think I need to say more!

Slade – Merry Christmas Everybody

We always sang this song at school in the Christmas concerts and even though I despised singing assemblies, this song was always fun to sing especially with all the hand motions!

Brenda Lee – Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree

Home Alone is one of my favourite films and this song is featured in it!

Kelly Clarkson – Underneath the Tree

This song was introduced to me last year by my housemate Laura and it’s incredible! Actually Kelly Clarkson’s entire Christmas album, Wrapped in Red is great.

Idina Menzel and Michael Buble – Baby it’s Cold Outside

Elf is another one of my favourite Christmas films and this song reminds me of that film! And also Idina Menzel’s voice is incredible.

Bing Crosby – White Christmas

I love this song because I’m always wishing for a white Christmas! Sadly in the south of England I don’t think it’ll ever happen, unless I go away for Christmas.

Chris de Burgh – A Spaceman Came Travelling

This was another song, I used to sing at Christmas in school. I’m still not entirely sure why it’s regarded a Christmas song but it’s still fun to sing and listen too.

The Polar Express – When Christmas Comes to Town

These two songs are from another one of my favourite Christmas films and I couldn’t choose between these two songs as I love them both!
