This week I’m reviewing Five Guys!
I’m not exactly sure what I was expecting when I arrived but what greeted me was a bit of a surprise. Five Guys is basically McDonald’s with better quality and more food. I think I was expecting something similar to The Diner or like a steakhouse type thing. I know I was definitely not expecting a fast food restaurant.
Five Guys being similar to McDonald’s to me isn’t a bad thing, because hey, I love a good Maccy D’s now and then. The set up of the restaurant is exactly like a fast food restaurant and the ordering system threw me a little but the woman behind the counter was lovely and explained everything which was great. You don’t get that kind of service at a McDonald’s!
I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a portion of fries and it was delicious! The burger was the perfect amount of juicy and it wasn’t a super huge thick burger either which was great because I find them too filling sometimes. I only wish I didn’t get bacon because American style bacon is the worst. It’s supposed to be fatty and tender not crispy enough to break a tooth!
It was a little more expensive than I thought it would be, but there were numerous signs around the restaurant that explained where the food had been locally sourced from. I don’t mind paying more for locally sourced food, as it will be from a Red Tractor Assured Farm and it’s good for our economy too.
I did take some photos of my food but the absence of plates made it difficult and I didn’t really want to faff about getting it right while my burger was sat awaiting me. Most of the time when I need to take photos of my food for a blog post, it looks too good and I’ve already chowed half of it down before I’ve remembered about a photo! So yeah, apologies for the lack of photos!
